Downtown Houston/Convention Center

Hello! Can anyone tell me about the new Pavilions development in downtown Houston? We will be in town for only one evening, staying at the Hilton-Americas connected to the Convention Center and are wondering where to go and what to do. We%26#39;re headed to the Space Center the next day, so we probably won%26#39;t get too crazy (tram + hangover = unpleasant start to vacation), but would also like to kick off the vacation with some fun.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks --

Downtown Houston/Convention Center

Houston Pavilions is open and operating, with larger retail tenants being House of Blues, Books-A-Million, Forever 21 (shopping), McCormick %26amp; Schmick’s (high end Steaks) and Guadalajara del Centro. Lucky Strike Lanes opening was delayed until sometime in the fall by financing problems for the build out. Many other restaurants are still being built out balance of 2009.

Lots of other walkable options, eating and drinking places vicinity of Main Street and Texas Avenue plus cheap seats at Minute Maid if Astros are home.

Midtown district (vicinity of Bagby Street %26amp; West Gray Street) similar to Main X Texas, but more open air places for the evening hours.

Hi Gunner,

Midtown is a great suggestion for night of fun--we like to walk from club to restaurant, etc. Coco%26#39;s Crepes for dessert and people watching. For restaurants by area, go to:

In midtown, we like Ibiza for dinner, too.

Don%26#39;t miss going to the Sky Bar at the top of your hotel to enjoy the view and the sunset..great martinis, too!

Enjoy,
