Walking from Austin Motel to 6th Street

Is this doable?

I know there is the %26#39;dillo%26#39; that runs along here but I%26#39;m just wondering how long the walk would take as well?

Walking from Austin Motel to 6th Street

I%26#39;ts a little over mile- right around 2km. It is walkable, there is sidewalk but Congress is very busy. There are lots of businesses wth parking lots that empty out onto Congress. So be on the lookout as you walk.

What time of year?

After four on Friday my daughter and I walked from City Hall across the bridge to Auditorium Shores, a distance less than what you contemplate. Of course it was hot, muggy, with no respite on the bridge from the sun. All the while I wondered why I was doing this, since I knew better....and it%26#39;s not even the height of summer!

We would be travelling in either October or November.

The weather will be much nicer for walking at that time of year, but you%26#39;ll still have to watch out for traffic. It%26#39;s doable, but don%26#39;t expect a nice, peaceful walk.
