IAH to Woodlands Tx-need general advice

I am supposed to be arriving at IAH on Thur May 28 in at 3pm. By the time i get my rental car and on the road heading to the Conroe area on US45 north, I know 1- I will be hungry, are there any good oriential resturants on that road, early dinner costs around $10-15. 2-how can i check for road closures on 45 -i%26#39;m a nervous driver and will mapquest a route out, but i know that detours don%26#39;t always show up on mapquest. Thanks in advance for advice and help.

IAH to Woodlands Tx-need general advice

You have 2 basic roads from IAH to The Woodlands: The Hardy Toll Road and I-45 (free). It is a short drive - about 25 minutes. The toll road will have less traffic and will take you to I-45 just before The Woodlands. Once you get to The Woodlands there are several restaurants. I would wait until I get to The Woodlands to eat. You will be just in front of the rush hour traffic - so if you stop you will get caught to it. To answer the question there are Chinese restuarants in Spring (on the way). If you do decide to stop do not take the toll road.

PF Changs is one (a nicer one) and Pei Wei is another PF Chang%26#39;s but chepaer and a different menu. Several others too. Go to www.b4ueathouston.com. for additional info on restuarants.

I would suggest you go the Hardy Toll Road from IAH, this will drop directly onto I-45, just south of The Woodlands area. I believe there are only 2 toll stops on this stretch of road.

The PF Chang%26#39;s mentioned above is actually right next to the The Woodlands Mall, and a bit confusing to get to. I%26#39;m not a big fan of chinese food, except for one across town, so I can%26#39;t help with the food.

I drove up to the Conroe area just last week. There were no closures on the freeway itself, just some exit ramps had construction/detours, near Loop 336.
