I am interested in going to the beaches in Galveston, TX; however, I can%26#39;t find out if everyone is back to normal, since the hurricane last year.
Has anyone been to Galveston beaches, since the hurricane?Check the Galveston forum, there is a lot of updated information there.
Just click on the ';Galveston'; to the right of your topic title and all the Galveston posts will come up.

We%26#39;re virtually back to normal - come see us!
The beaches are GORGEOUS right now as it is all ovely new sand following the beach replenishment program.
Most of the hotels and restaurants by the beach are open too. The only place that is still a little out of it is downtown, but even there there are a few bars and cafes open.
Some buisnesses did not survive the hurricaine, but there are plenty of restaurants and sand has been added to some places along the beachfront. Moody Gardens is starting to open up a little at a time and I understand that by the end of the month, everything there will be open except for some of the animal displays.
Thanks to all who have responded!
As of May 3rd, all the beaches looked pretty busy and beautiful. Even Crystal Beach on Bolivar looked fresh and new. There is a small portion of the seawall that has metal peices sticking out of the sand. It is near the Flagship Hotel, ruined by the storm. It will be easy to notice. Steer clear of that section but the rest looked great. I even saw people surfing!
Just went this weekend and it looked great. Best areas, in my opinion are from 37th to 70th street.
