We bought season passes to Splashtown in Spring, Texas and went on 05/12. It was so crowded that we could not move. We didn%26#39;t even ride one ride due to the lines. As we were leaving (after only staying 2 hours), we counted the number of school buses in the parking lot. We stopped counting at 87. That%26#39;s right, there were probably 100 school buses of kids in the park, not to mention the individual families that attended. A fistfight broke out right near our chairs and there was tons of foul language being used. The cost of food was incredible.... a small sausage on a stick was $6 and a small dippin dots (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup%26#39;s worth) was $5. Locker rental was $9 and then if you really wanted to be able to use a tube you had to rent one. We will not be going back and will be demanding a refund for our money. Greed has overtaken Splashtown and capacity control is out the window.
Splashtown Spring - Horrible
Sorry to hear your experience was horrible. I went to their website and found that they were having a high school music festival the weekend that you were there. Splashtown is no longer a Six Flags property either, and I wonder how much that could have affected things.
For future Splashtowners...look at their website to check for events www.splashtownpark.com/calender.php.
Also, if you have younger kids, I hear the Adventure Bay, off the Southwest Freeway somewhere, is more family friendly than Splashtown
Splashtown Spring - Horrible
I looked at the calendar on the website as you offered, and I saw nothing about some event going on for the kids. I did however see that this weekend they%26#39;re having a Christian Lock in, this might be something more appropriate for the kids if your concern is the foul language and the fighting. I myself hate being in a crowd and paying 30.00 and not being able to ride a ride. I%26#39;ll have to check out Adventure Bay, but Splashtown should have some rules against the fighting, and should have some type of occupancy limit.
do you know where I can find discount tickets on nice for splashtown?
I had a horrible experience at Splashtown this weekend (8/11). The power went out in Spring and everyone had to get out of the water. It would not have been as bad but no one could retrieve their items out of the lockers since they are electronic. We waited almost an hour and a half to get our items out of the locker. Worst of all, one of the lifeguards stood on top of a table laughing that she was ';going to have to have a picture of this';........of all of the 50-70 people standing outside of the locker room in the 100 degree weather while she is going at it with her digital camera. Would not to expereince this again.
Absolutely horrible!
My family have been season pass holders for 6 years. we go every Sunday after church. There is never a huge crowd, the rides are very accessible. Maybe instead of bashing a place after one trip you should give them another try and take into consideration it%26#39;s one of the only water parks around and Saturdays are a prime day for crowds AYWHERE. We pack a picnic lunch and after a couple hours of rides we go out and eat and rest. We enjoy every trip we take and our family looks forward to it all year.
