Mexican ';Cuisine';

I have been to San Antonio many, many times and have loved all the Tex-Mex there. I decided I would like to try something different this time. I was wondering if there are any high-end Mexican ';Cuisine'; restaurants there. Examples would be Hugo%26#39;s in Houston or Javiers in Dallas. I am sure we will hit the Tex-Mex plenty, but wanted to see what else there is to experience. Thanks!

There is La Hacienda de Los Barrio%26#39;s www.lhdlb.com the food is excellent.

La Fogata www.lafogata.com a lot of famous people have eaten their %26amp; their picture with autograph. Acenar would be another good choice. www.acenar.com at the Historic Sunset Station you have Aldaco%26#39;s %26amp; they have a avocado margarita that is excellent. you can check it out on Sunset Station website www.sunset-station.com

Hope you find what you are looking for that meets your criteria.

It%26#39;s a bit of a secret to many people, but Cielito Lindo on the north side serves fantastic Mex-Mex, as well as good Tex-Mex. This place is worth the trip...

La Margarita also has some very good higher-end dishes, and you can get to a real quality Mexican taco chain at El Papalote (the only US outlet of the chain).

Have to agree with pru that La Hacienda de Los Barrio%26#39;s offer a very Mexican cuisine, Their mole

is excellant. I clasify La Paloma Blanca as %26#39;clean%26#39;

Mexican fare - the tastes are pure, unlike tex-mex and very healthy.

You may want to try Ernesto%26#39;s on Jackson-Keller and Vance Jackson right outside Loop 410 on the NW side of town. The place is definitely different from your usual Tex-Mex restaurants as it has a lot of seafood dishes with a variety of excellent sauces and even has a nice wine list.
