My boyfriend and I are going to corpus in june. We are looking for a hotel on the beach or within walking distance. We want something with a nice pool with a bar. We want something pretty nice 4-5 star. Any suggestions?

The only 4 star full service Hotel is the Omni. The Omni is actually 2 hotels about a block apart. Both are somewhat dated but still considered the best hotels in the city of a major chain. Both have decent pools and are withing walking distance to McGee Beach.
The Holiday Inn Emerald beach would be one step down in service from the Omni, has its own beach and is adjacent to McGee Beach. It has an indoor pool and both interior and outdoor bars.
After that there is not much else I can suggest that meets your criteria unless you would like to stay in Port Aransas or North Padre Island.

You might want to consider the V Boutique Hotel. Does not have a pool, however, but is located downtown and walking distance from the water. Very nice and most upscale of all the accommodations in the city.

The Radisson is on North Beach and a step down from those I have mentioned above. Nice but dated and considered a 3 star by most.

The Holiday Inn Sunspree on Padre Island is the only hotel in Corpus Christi that is on the Gulf of Mexico. Not 5 stars...maybe 3 1/2.
