Ggood seafood restaurant

I%26#39;m going to be in Houston in a couple of weeks and thought about taking a side trip to Galveston. While there I figured I%26#39;d find a restaurant to get some good, fresh seafood.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I%26#39;d like somewhere that%26#39;s not too expensive.

Thanks.

Last trip we enjoyed Nate%26#39;s at Jamaica Beach; the whole fried flounder was great.

Benno%26#39;s on the beach is usually a good affordable choice.

I wouldn%26#39;t recommend Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf for great food but the view is really good which cool outdoor dining.

Saltwater Grill and Rudy %26amp; Paco%26#39;s are both great but a little more pricey. In saying that, nothing is too terribly expensive in Galveston. These two have prices ranging from around $18-30.

I was in Galveston this past weekend and I had a great time. Funny, I just realized everywhere I went I had shrimp. So here are my suggestions...

Stay away from the chain resturants, it isnt local seafood and you could get that anywhere. If you want to eat where the locals eat try Shrimp and Stuff. Very reasonable pricing. Everything is fried and battered but it is so gooood. I had the stuffed shrimp and a lemonade, took it to the beach and bam....There is your atmosphere and local cuisine. :)

Also tried Mario%26#39;s Italian Resturant on the Seawall. Late afternoon on a Sunday found it nearly empty. I had Vevi Galveston which is shrimp cooked three ways and the food tasted like it just crawled out of the gulf onto my plate. I will definately be back.

I also ate at Yaga%26#39;s Tropical Cafe on the Strand. I had the Shrimp Tejas. Basically shrimp wrapped in bacon and smothered in provolone and BBQ sauce. Bed of dirty rice, sugar snap peas and red potatoes. I sat outside, which would have been a mistake if it wasnt so overcast. The tables were metal and I could imagine them burning in the typical Texas sun.

Hope that helps! Enjoy Houston and Galveston.

Shrimp and Stuff is a great little local joint. Very casual and inexpensive. Second the recommendation as to Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf for atmosphere/view etc.

If you don%26#39;t want to go all the way to Galveston, there are some good seafood options in Kemah.

Gaido%26#39;s for sure ;) maybe a bit more expensive than the others but best seafood u can try.whenever i go there i try their snapper especially with their toppings and it is perfect italian style
