I just want to register a complaint about a registration issue I encountered when I stayed at the hotel with my wife on Easter week-end.
I had been going to the old Holiday Inn Express on Highway 84 before the new one was built on Hi-way 45 North. We never encountered any problem. I know the rates for the hotel so I expecting tro pay about $110 for a one night stay. We got to the hotel at 5PM and the attendant told us that there where no non-smoking rooms available at the hotel. When we asked her how was that possible when we just saw her register another family with credit card issues to a non-smoking room. The parking lot was empty all Saturday night and all day Sunday. They had no otehr guests besides my family and two other guests. The attendant told us that the only non-smoking room was the suite that cost $169 per night plus tax. When I told her that we only wanted a room for two people she said that was all they had. She said that she was new to the job and did not know how to use the computer because I paid her in cash. I told her that she charged too much in taxes(12.5%) and the room cost too much. I said that I wanted to speak to a manager. The attendant said the manager was not available until the next morning. The next morning the manager came and said she owed me a $20 refund because the attendant charged too much tax.The deal is that that had vacancies all weekend and could have easily rented out a cheaper room but they got greedy and wanted to gouge us and get an extra $20 for a suite that we did not request. The attendant told me that she hoped that I was not mad at her. I told her that I was not because I am a Christian. I just wanted to let someonoe know about this and if I had the corporate phome number I would call them and tell them about it because I believe they do other customers like that. If anyone out there has had this expeience e-mail me at
