I was just getting ready to get on here about looking for a hotel with the suite set-up for my family. So many hotels say they are ';suites'; but it is still one big room. When you are travelling with small kids on vacation, Mom and Dad could certainly use a little adult time after you put the kids to bed. Suites that are just one big room make us have to go to bed at 8:30 with the kids! That%26#39;s why we love Embassy Suites hotels usually.
Now my question... what hotel in Austin has the nicest outdoor pool scene? (It seems that the ES pools are indoors in Austin.)
Thanks.
Suites set - up, cool pool?
Sorry - meant to make this a reply to another thread... not start a new one. OOPS!

Are you asking about an outdoor pool scene for adults or for children? The Hotel San Jose on South Congress has a nice courtyard area with a pool and a very hip pool-side bar that is frequented by locals, but it%26#39;s not really a place where kids splash around and play in the pool. Both the Omni and the Hilton downtown have outdoor pools. The Omni%26#39;s is on the roof and small-ish, but it%26#39;s a nice area with lots of lounge chairs. Unfortunately, I don%26#39;t think either of those has the suite set-up you%26#39;re looking for, unless you book one of the more expensive suites. The Four Seasons also has an outdoor pool area overlooking Lady Bird Lake, but again, the regular rooms are just one large room, not a suite.
The absolute best pool in the Austin area for children is going to be out at the Hyatt Lost Pines. It%26#39;s 20 miles east of Austin by Bastrop and there is not much else out there - however it is a beautiful resort and great for young ones.
