The McKinney Farmer%26#39;s Market starts in April and runs until the end of October. It is Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 noon and is located inside the Chestnut Square Historic Village. It is roughly a block off the square behind the courthouse on McDonald Street.
There are always several vendors with fresh produce of all types and a couple of vendors with different types of meat. There are also vendors with local honey, soaps and purses. The last time we went there was also a great booth with specialty biscuits for your dogs.
Don%26#39;t miss the Dixie General Store if you go. It is across the street next to the chapel. The general store is a restored building that actually served as a real general store when the concept was applicable. It sells lots of neat odds and ends - books, soaps, knick knacks, drinks, craft supplies etc.
Chestnut Square has a lot of fun activities and there will be people there to take you on tours of the houses in the village and tell you about events coming up locally.
