First time visit

We will be visitng at the end of March for a long weekend - 4 nights.





We know restaurants are plenty, however, living in the Philadelphia area, where we also have plenty to pick and choose from ... we have our favorities.



If you can share a great breakfast/dinner spot of yours, I would appreciate it.

Guenther House and Magnolia Pancake House for breakfast..A large majority of people here eat tacoc for breakfast..For that I like Taco Taco(voted best in US),Blanco Cafe or Panchitos on Mcullough..For Dinner I like Roaring Fork,Wildfish Grill,Formosa Garden,Boudros,Rudy%26#39;s,Le Reve,Pappacito%26#39;s,Sushi Zushi,and Goodtime Charlies to name a few...

Boudro%26#39;s - best food on the Riverwalk, get the guacamole made at your table



Rosarios - Mexican close to the Riverwalk, a SA institution.



La Fogata - Mexican, great margaritas and a great patio



Harmon%26#39;s Bar-B-Q Circle in Cibolo - authentic mom and pop BBQ



El Chaparral http://www.elchaparral.com/ - my favorite fajitas, go after 5 PM for the best bean soup, complementary with your meal



Taco Haven - Tex-Mex, a lunch favorite, try Ralphies Special - shredded chicken on a soft corn tortilla topped with shredded cabbage and fresh lemon.



Casbeers - Hamburgers, Enchiladas, Live music, a dive in the best sense of the word.



Los Barrios - Main stream Tex-Mex, if we don%26#39;t want to drive to El Chaparral this is where we go.



Teka Molino - Tex-Mex, fresh ground masa deep fried. Combo plate - 2 puffy tacos, bean roll, fried cheese and jalapeno taco, guacamole cup.



4th Street Cafe - Church ministry, great plate lunches - meatloaf etc.



Schilos - German Deli just off the Riverwalk, Daily plate specials, homemade root beer.



Guenther House - great breakfasts featuring Pioneer Mill products



Mad Hatters - In King William area - sandwiches, flavored teas, great spot for Sunday morning



Blue Star - brew pub and grub. Interesting galleries in the same complex.



Caparelli%26#39;s On Main - great Italian, lunch specials with linen napkins and table cloths.



Justin%26#39;s On Main - mom and pop gellato



Earl Abel%26#39;s - San Antonio institution, Comfort food, the only place I%26#39;ll eat fried chicken



Piccolo%26#39;s - Italian - mom and pop get the Shrimp Rafael



Thai Kitchen - our go-to restaurant we eat there a couple of times a week. Inexpensive and great.



Water Street Oyster Bar - Seafood, half price oysters on the half shell during happy hour.



Mr. %26amp; Mrs. G%26#39;s - Soul Food Wednesdays are turkey and dressing day. Do not skip the banana pudding.



Joseph%26#39;s Bakery - great soup and sandwiches with homemade bread. Fantastic deserts



Magnolia Pancake Haus - well worth the wait (over an hour on Sunday mornings)



Liberty Bar - great bread and interesting twists on classics. Great bar, only place where I can get my single village Mescal



Josephine Street Cafe - our first choice for a great reasonably priced steak. We always get the wilted salad with our steak



Goadi - Goro the sushi chef/owner is the best. Sit at the bar and watch the show



La Frite Belgian Bistro - Great mussels and fries in the Southtown area



Golden Wok - dim sum, on Sunday%26#39;s they have the carts.



Sorento%26#39;s - Italian sit-down with great pizzas



Beto%26#39;s - Empanadas

I second the Magnolia Pancake House for breakfast, this is our favorite. This is always a hit on our trips to SA.
