Help -need suggestions for long term stay starting Saturday
I had to stay in Austin area for a few weeks a while back for some job training, and stayed in the Extended StayAmerica in Round Rock. In my case the company was paying, was told they chose it because places were cheaper in Round Rock than Austin. My research says checking in for three weeks straight would run about $800. Perhaps if you check the Round Rock area? I can say the place was very clean, the kitchen was nice and had your basics. When I needed a specific item to use to make something, the staff was very helpful in providing it.

The Human Resources Office that hired your son is going to be your best source of information here. Have your son contact them and ask for suggestions. They should have current info for nearby locations for their new hires.
Good luck and hope your son enjoys Austin!
I agree with yankeetransplant. The company should be able to help. My son moves to Dallas for summer internship this weekend and thru his company they found him a room to rent in a house owned by one of their employees. That might be an option.
Unfortunately, this company rarely hires/promotes from outside and are not set up for many referrals. Thanks for your help!
There is also an extended stay america on research BLVD (highway 183) that may work for your son. There are several extended stay places in the northwest area that are reasonable. Do you have a better idea of the location of his employment? Not trying to be nosy, just could narrow it down for you. Arboretum area? Mopac/183? North Mopac (closer to Round Rock)? Also, my best friend recently stayed at Staybridge Suites in the Arboretum area and it was very nice. And I would call wherever you decide, let them know it%26#39;s a long term stay and do some negotiating with price.
Another good chain to check is Residence Inn (Marriott). There are several in the areas suggested- Round ROck, Arboretum, north Austin off of Parmer. I agree with the Round Rock suggestion if it fits with your son%26#39;s place of work.
No problem --thanks for all the great replies--sure appreciate it. . The address I have is on Ridgepoint Drive and the zip is 78754 if that helps.
We put up family members at the Northcross Suites:

The rooms are clean and the bedroom is a separate room. Breakfast is included
The map shows Ridgepoint to be east of IH 35 at 183 and 290. In all honesty I don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s a lot around there. The hotels along IH 35 and 183 would be close, but are mainly single rooms (although there is an Embassy Suites around there). I presume he%26#39;ll have a car? I recommend the Arboretum area (183/Loop 1 Mopac/360) There are lots of suite hotels in the area, it%26#39;s a safe area, etc. He%26#39;ll be able to drive straight down 183.
Most corporate lodging looks at month-long leases, I don%26#39;t know if he%26#39;d find a better deal. You could always try Craigslist for subleases, but they%26#39;d probably expect a full month.
