I%26#39;m having a wedding and I want to have it somewhere that is not too traditional. I was thinking of renting out a big cabin or home that we could have it at.
The party would have about 100 people. Does anyone know where I could find a place like this??
I%26#39;m on a budget...also if this place isn%26#39;t too far from Dallas becuase I have alot of out of town guests.
Does this place even exsist?? I%26#39;m new to Dallas and I am open to all your suggestions....
Unique place to have a Dallas wedding?
Old City Park and the Dallas Arboretum are both good places for weddings.
Old City Park has more options available in terms of buildings. There are five options of various sizes.

The Arboretum has the whole park and three buildings.

The Aldredge House at 5500 Swiss is also quite nice. Here%26#39;s a link to an external view. It%26#39;s owned by the Dallas County Medical Society Alliance and is rented out for all kinds of events.

Unique place to have a Dallas wedding?
thanks for those suggestions....my budget is a little smaller that those places...i have about 2000-3000 to spend on the venue/food (including tax)
any other suggestions?
RedStaple, a lovely part of Dallas is White Rock Lake. At the lake there is a facility that is available for private parties, weddings, etc.
The Dreyfuss Club is a large building with several fireplaces, screened-in porches, and a large enough area that I think could accommodate 100 people. I think the building was remodeled last year or the year before. I%26#39;m not sure of the price, but you can contact the Parks %26amp; Recreation Department at 214-670-8740 to find out their prices. They should also be able to tell you about other buildings that are available that may be in your price range.
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!
I don%26#39;t know if you%26#39;ve talked to any caterers, but that is going to be your biggest expense. They may have suggestions for a venue.
If not...I always thought a wedding at Hickory Street Studios would be cool - they have a huge loft area overlooking I-30, but it%26#39;s draped in white sheers.
With your budget, you may want to think about a restaurant%26#39;s private room, etc...that will cut-off your venue expense.
Also...there%26#39;s Turner House in Oak Cliff.
I got married at Richardson Women%26#39;s Club in Richardson located on North Cliffe. It over looks Sherrill Park Golf Course. There are two facilities that you can rent together or separate. We were married in the house with about 100 guests in attendance. We had a small reception through out the house and was just large enough to have string quartet. For a bigger reception there is Founders Hall which is attached to the house and it available for larger receptions and will allow for dancing. Both are very nice and affordable considering other options in the area. It can alsom accommodate an outdoor wedding as well.
Didn%26#39;t the Dreyfuss Club burn down last month?
On your budget, you might want to consider Crosstimber Winery in Grapevine

They do a full meal (choice of Italian, BBQ, Tex-Mex) for a min of 75 the facility rental is included. They have a party barn which can be used for the ceremony in inclement weather. There%26#39;s a gazebo if you want an outdoor ceremony. Check out www.theknot.com Dallas local board for more info.
Another...a restaurant called Marie-Gabrielle near the Rolex building near Uptown.
Let us know if you%26#39;re still looking at this post....
Winfrey Point is the building that burned. There are still two other facilities available - Dreyfuss Club and Big Thicket, plus the Bath House Cultural Center.
