My wife and I are celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary this weekend and I am planning to take her to San Antonio from Austin. We plan on going to Fiesta Texas, but was wondering what Romantic things are there to do in or around SA. Can you recommend any really cool restaruants for dinner as well? Maybe something on the unique-side, something you cant find in Austin.
Thanks
romantic weekend in SA?
Unique to SA - Tower of Americas; RiverWalk; Authentic Tex-Mex
romantic weekend in SA?
I second the votes for the Riverwalk and Tower of the Americas. Those are the romantic spots in SA proper.
For restaurants, there really isn%26#39;t that much of a difference between Austin %26amp; SA. Austin%26#39;s Tex-Mex is a bit more eclectic, and SA%26#39;s more traditional. You might try La Margarita for Mexican food -- it%26#39;ll be a nice change-up.
There is also a new restaurant called Ohana%26#39;s on the northwest side (near Six Flags). It is a Hawaiian-themed hibachi grill. The food is good, but the place is pricey.
Also, El Papalote on the north is a real Mexican chain (based in Monterrey, I think?). There are a lot of good, high-end restaurants out that way -- Pavil, Silo, etc... Not much in Austin matches those places.
I agree with the above posters. The Tower of the Americas to me is very romantic %26amp; we usually go there for our anniversary. The food is excellent, service is superior %26amp; you have the spectacular view of SA as the Tower rotates around SA especially at sunset. www.toweroftheamericas.com or Boudros on the Riverwalk with the guacamole prepared tableside with a prickly pear margarita so good as well as their food. www.boudros.com or Biga on the Banks for more unique www.biga.com or Silo www.silo.com
Waht are you looking to spend? Money no problem, well then I would suggest Westin La Cantera, close to Fiesta Texas. Dinner - Grey Moss Inn.
Some other suggestions. I like Tiago Grill in the Rim (the shrimp cocktail is great, but if not use to hot leave out or half the peppers), Scenic Loop Cafe (weekend live outdoor entertainment, the steaks are very good) and Rudy%26#39;s in Leon Springs. In the area, I also eat at Angelo%26#39;s (very good chance to see a Spur player), Papa Nachos (get the Fajitas, the 1 lbs order, they will half%26amp; half on request, more chicken then beef), Longhorn (i hate it, but my daughter loves it, weekend live outdoor singer).

Also there is Le Reve which is the top restaurant in TX %26amp; in the top 50 restaurants in America but you will need reservation here, asap it%26#39;s cozy %26amp; has a very romantic feel to it, %26amp; service is superior. www.restaurantlereve.com If you are looking for a country site that%26#39;s charming then the Grey Moss Inn with it%26#39; candlelight is another great choice www.grey-moss-inn.com
If you are looking for a romantic stroll than go to the Japanese Tea Garden in Brackenridge park www.sanantonio.gov/sapar/japanhis.asp
