is there free parking at the riverwalk or do you have to park in parking garages or paid lots. If you have to pay to park, does anyone have info on prices?
cost for parking at the riverwalk
Yes in the downtown area you have to pay for parking unless you are staying at a Hotel that has Free Parking %26amp; not many of them. Here is a website for Parking Garages %26amp; Lots www.SanAntonio.gov/asm/parking/garages.asp
or you can check this website as also
www.visitSanAntonio.com on the lower area under tools click on area maps %26amp; it will also show you the parking options in the downtown area.
cost for parking at the riverwalk
thanks. we are trying to decide if we will stay in hotel near seaworld and drive to the riverwalk or stay at riverwalk and drive to seaworld.
The Riverwalk Hotel don%26#39;t have Free Parking but the Hotels that aren%26#39;t on the RW, some of them have Free Parking just FYI.
any suggestions for hotels that are within a reasonable walking distance of riverwalk or alamo or missions. we plan to try and see all of them and are kid friendly. traveling with an 8 and 6 year old.
If you plan on staying multiple days and only visit Sea World a single day staying out at Sea World will keep you a good drive from the other attractions you have mentioned. I would stay on the Riverwalk and enjoy the area and its many attractions on foot and drive to Sea World. Riverwalk hotels allow you to be in the middle of everything and not need a car. If you stay at Sea World you will be stuck in your hotel only to leave when visiting an attraction. Downtown parking averages $20.00 per 24 hrs. without in and out privileges. Most hotels will be closer to $25-$30 with in and out privileges but you will have to tip the valet (or self park if available). You could stay away from the Riverwalk but a short trolley ride to the action if you look into the El Mercado area. Personally, we pony up for the parking and stay right on the Riverwalk and leave the car in the garage.
There is street parking w/ meters. After 5 if think its still free. I
