Hotel near riverbend park

Going for a baseball tournament. I see there are a lot of choices, but very mixed reviews when I read the hotel reviews. Just curious if anyone has gone recently and liked the hotel around 70 to 80 a night.

Nothing fancy, but clean etc.

Which hotels in particular are you considering?

actually after calling most were booked....but I am at the travelodge right now....

Also looked at Econolodge and Fairfield...

I think the Travelodge will be okay. It%26#39;s definitely not fancy. (I%26#39;ve never stayed there, since I%26#39;m a local). It%26#39;s a little bit far from the ball parks, but ';far'; is a relative term in Waco... you%26#39;re probably a 20 minute easy drive away. It%26#39;s located in an area that has equipment rental places, carpet stores... that type of thing. BUT... it%26#39;s a very safe area of town and close to lots of places to eat or otherwise burn time (movie theaters, malls).

Fairfield Inn has two locations - the one ';north'; is right off of I-35, newer (I think) and closer to the parks. The one ';south'; is fine - same area of town as the Travelodge. I stayed there when we first moved to town, and it was nice (10 years ago). :)

If it%26#39;s not too far out of budget, the Quality Inn at New Road has good reviews. It%26#39;s closer to the ball parks and across the parking lot from IHOP; a typical highway hotel. :)

Please post back before you leave if you want recommendations for food and entertainment while you%26#39;re here! :D

Thanks...I will keep this in mind as they will be going back
